SEP sesam Si3 Replication
Emergency management with data outsourcing

Prepared against the disaster with multi-site data protection solutions

Lightning, fire or water damage in the server room is every IT administrator's nightmare. Accidental deletion, cybercrime, computer viruses or theft can also quickly develop into major disasters in companies and organizations. Every minute the company is denied access to important business data, it costs money.

With the SEP sesam Si3 replication solution every IT infrastructure is ready for a variety of recovery scenarios. This makes cross-site disaster recovery in the event of loss or failure of a site just as easy as a practice with the provision of standby servers on a cloud site. With block-based Si3 replication it is possible to transfer the required data in any combination between the SEP sesam Backup Server or a Remote Device Server and a large number of other Remote Device Servers (RDS) across locations. With this process, the risk of data loss is considerably reduced through data outsourcing and at the same time the recovery of production data in the event of loss of a site is made possible in the first place. In an emergency, the outsourced backups can be accessed in the shortest possible time and made available for productive operation again in the shortest possible time.

SEP sesam Si3 deduplication technology is the prerequisite for this high-performance replication.  This not only shortens the backup process, but also considerably reduces the required bandwidth between the locations.

How SEP sesam Si3 replication works

In block-based Si3 replication, the SEP sesam Remote Device Server (RDS) copies or replicates the data to different locations. With this procedure, the risk of data loss is significantly reduced and at the same time the recovery of production data is accelerated.

Cold stand-by scenarios in the cloud can also be implemented with SEP sesam Si3 replication. Business-relevant servers are stored in cloud data centers with the latest data.
