Especially the certified backup of the SAP HANA in-memory database and the Managed Service Provider program were decisive for the decision in favor of SEP, whose solution and support is also "Made in Germany".

Data backup solution for SAP wanted as MSP solution
Collogia was looking for an adequate solution for the data backup of all SAP environments right from the start of the hosting division. SEP was quickly found because the SEP sesam solution is one of the first SAP-certified solutions that is also certified for the SAP HANA in-memory database and can also be offered as a managed service. In addition, SEP's expertise in the Linux environment was a criterion. The more than 50 servers from Collogia run on Microsoft Windows as well as on Linux servers in virtual environments such as Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) in NetCologne's "DC-NET" data centre. SEP is also certified for this and can look back on many years of cooperation with the manufacturer. The connection to the modern fiber optic network provides customers with the highest possible performance in data transmission. "A solution that enables both SAP- and Red Hat-certified data backup and recovery was exactly what we were looking for in our hosting environment," says Axel Borchmann, Head of SAP Managed Services at Collogia IT Services and responsible for implementation. It was not easy to find a suitable product that met the requirements and remained within the specified price range. Axel Borchmann and his team looked at the most important backup solutions on the market and evaluated them for their suitability for the planned environment. When SEP sesam was selected, the license model tailored for MSPs was also convincing. "In addition, SEP provided us with excellent configuration support," says Axel Borchmann with satisfaction. After a short test phase in spring 2018, the backup environment was switched from the previous script-based solution to the centrally manageable SEP sesam. During the implementation it turned out that all other systems can also be backed up very well by SEP sesam. This is due to the many different agents provided by SEP.
