Microsoft Windows
SEP sesam offers comprehensive backups for Microsoft Windows. All Microsoft operating systems can be included in a SEP sesam based backup concept.
Microsoft systems can, for example, also be backed up by Linux or Unix based SEP sesam backup servers.
Selected Product Features:
- Microsoft VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service) to backup open files
- Virtual Server Infrastructures, such as VMware, Hyper-V or Linux based virtual environments, are supported.
SEP sesam backs up the Windows System State in order to permit a restore on identical hardware. Microsoft only supports restores on identical hardware. SEP sesam Bare System Recovery for Windows can minimize downtime and the amount of work after a server crash, or during a migration with a Disaster Recovery on different hardware. The System State includes the following parts (depending on the components that are installed):
