  • Reliable Backups using Novell Target Service Agent. Scheduled backups use Novell Target Service Agent technology provides a complete solution. SEP sesam’s online backup and restore capabilities allow system administrators to backup and restore Novell Storage Services™ Volumes, Novell® eDirectory™ entries and Novell GroupWise® files with all trustee rights.
  • Migration from Novell NetWare to Novell Open Enterprise Server 2. By installing SEP sesam or SEP sesam SBA, you can easily migrate your Novell NetWare files to Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 by performing a simple backup and restore to the similar file structure on your Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 platform.
  • Novell eDirectory. Backup and restore Novell eDirectory files and settings.
  • Novell Storage Services. SEP sesam fully backs up Novell Storage Services Volumes, including trustee rights. Using the Restore Wizard, volumes are easily restored with all user permissions if data is lost or destroyed.
  • Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 Cluster Ready. SEP sesam has the only software today that allows for full cluster support in both Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 Linux and Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 Novell Netware environments. Fail-over capability and recognition allows for the backup to continue in the event of node loss or failure, in which case, the backup completes from the point of interruption. There is no additional charge for clustering technology, however clustered resources (IP Addresses) require separate licenses.

SUSE Linux Enterprise

SEP has been working successfully in the Linux field for quite some time.

For more than 10 years, we have been developing backup software for Linux environments, both the SEP sesam Server as an application on Linux as well as the backup of Linux servers.

In 1999, together with SUSE, SEP introduced the first Linux-based backup solutions to German businesses. We have been working successfully with SUSE and Novell for years and were one of the first SUSE certified ISV partners in Europe.

Since '99, SEP sesam is included as the standard backup solution in every SUSE Linux distribution. Currently, we are one of the most important Novell Partners concerning backups of Novell Linux and Open Enterprise systems.

SUSE Linux Enterprise server is one of the most stable platforms for SEP sesam. SEP sesam is certified for SUSE Linux enterprise server, SUSE Linux enterprise desktop and SUSE Linux enterprise realtime.

Classic file backups are supported as well as backup functions in virtual server infrastructures, VMware and Linux-based virtual infrastructures.
